When a man is seeking a woman to be his potential wife, what is he looking for in her?

Maybe she’s beautiful, can cook, is good with money, is educated and talented.

When the Lord comes back for his bridegroom, his beloved church, what will he be looking for?

According to the word in Ephesians 5:27, Christ wants “to present to himself to a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

Seems like a pretty daunting request for a fallible people. But, that is what Christ is coming back for.

We’re not going achieve perfection while in this world and God knows that, but he wants us to come to him and lay aside all the things that easily beset us; any unrighteousness, basically US. Let God make you into who he wants you to be! Continue reading

Is The Lord Your Shelter? (PART FOUR)

“One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.” (David, Psalm 27:4-5)

Have you ever been caught out in the rain? Have you ever been outside when the winds are blowing hard and heavy? If so, the first thing that you probably did was to try and seek out some sort of shelter to protect you from the winds and the rains.

Your primary focus at that time, most likely, was to get to safety. If you had a child with you, you most likely tried to shield that child from the elements as well. You probably pulled them close and wrapped your coat around them for protection. You may have even picked up an infant and held the baby snugly against you to shield him/her from the cold winds and rain. Continue reading
